Translated by Phương Thảo12:16 PM @ Friday - 10 April, 2026
On April 9, 2026, in Tam Ky, Da Nang, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union held a conference to review activities in Q1 2026; summarize five years of the “Excellent at Work, Responsible at Home” emulation movement for female members and workers (2020–2025); and launch Workers’ Month and the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) 2026.
Attending the conference were Mr. Lê An Hải, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union; Mr. Lê Hoàng, Standing Party Committee Member and Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Chemical Group; Mr. Chu Văn Giáp, Member of the Board of Members, Vietnam National Chemical Group; Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông, Chairman of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union; along with Standing Committee members, Executive Committee members, Trade Union Inspection Committee, and Chairpersons and Heads of Women’s Committees of affiliated grassroots trade unions.

Overcoming Difficulties and Taking Good Care of Workers’ Lives in Q1/2026
Reports at the conference showed that despite ongoing global complexities and fluctuations in raw material and energy markets, production and business activities of the Group’s units remained stable. Both production value and revenue in the first two months of the year increased by over 10% compared to the same period in 2025; jobs and incomes for over 20,000 employees were basically ensured, with an average monthly income exceeding VND 17 million per person.
Trade unions at all levels closely coordinated with management to organize successful Workers’ Conferences and Staff Meetings; promoted collective bargaining and signing of labor agreements with many provisions more favorable for workers; and ensured a well-cared-for Tet holiday with an average bonus of over VND 30 million per person. The Trade Union and the Group’s Social Security Fund provided timely support to thousands of workers in difficult circumstances, those suffering from occupational accidents or diseases, and children of workers with disabilities, with total financial assistance reaching billions of dong.
Movements for excellent and creative labor, the “Green – Clean – Beautiful, Ensuring OSH” movement, as well as cultural, sports, and charity activities, continued to be vibrant and practical at the grassroots level, contributing to stable mindsets and a lively emulation atmosphere throughout the Group.

Five-Year Highlights of the “Excellent at Work, Responsible at Home” Movement
From 2020 to 2025, the “Excellent at Work, Responsible at Home” emulation movement among female workers was deeply, systematically, and effectively implemented. The Group now has 4,650 female workers, accounting for 23% of the total workforce. The movement has truly become a motivator for women to promote their professional capacity and creativity in production while building happy families.
Many units have issued policies for female workers that go beyond legal requirements, such as support for women raising young children or pregnant employees; gifting traditional long dresses (ao dai); increasing meal allowances; organizing thematic dialogues on policies for women; and holding cultural, dance, contest, and excursion activities, thereby creating a humanistic and cohesive working environment.
The movement has not only elevated the role of female workers within enterprises but also promoted the positive image of women in the chemical industry in the new era.

Launching Workers’ Month and OSH Action Month 2026
At the conference, Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông launched Workers’ Month and the Action Month for OSH 2026 across the entire chemical industry trade union system, focusing on activities to care for workers’ lives; visiting and assisting workers in difficulty or suffering from occupational accidents; implementing programs such as “Chemical Shelter” and “Chemical Scholarship”; promoting innovation and creativity; and strengthening inspection and supervision of safety and health at the workplace.
In response, representatives of grassroots trade unions committed to carrying out many practical and meaningful activities for the benefit of workers.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Lê Hoàng, Standing Party Committee Member and Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Chemical Group, recognized and appreciated the contents of the emulation movements in response to Workers’ Month and OSH Action Month, as well as the enthusiastic presentations from units, especially candid opinions highlighting difficulties and obstacles in production and business. He affirmed that the Group’s leadership has taken note of all proposals and will soon work directly with units to resolve issues and support enterprises and workers.
Emphasizing the significance of integrating Workers’ Month with OSH Action Month, he encouraged trade unions at all levels to intensify communication and raise awareness of compliance with safety regulations, fire prevention, and environmental protection among all members and workers, as this is not only a legal requirement but also a direct factor ensuring stable production and livelihoods. He expressed his confidence that, with solidarity, responsibility, and creative labor, the Group’s units will continue to successfully fulfill their tasks in the coming period.

Mr. Lê An Hải, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, spoke highly of the proactive and innovative spirit of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union in organizing a “three-in-one” conference. He noted these are all very practical activities, directly associated with the care, rights, and interests of workers.
He emphasized that reviewing the first three months of the year immediately demonstrates a new approach, closely following progress and work efficiency in line with current general guidance. Through reports and presentations, he acknowledged positive signals in Q1 business results of the Group and its subsidiaries, with many targets achieved or exceeded, and some units meeting annual profit targets in Q1 alone. He affirmed that these results were due to the decisive leadership of the Party Committee, Group management, close coordination with the Trade Union, and the efforts of all employees.
Regarding the “Excellent at Work, Responsible at Home” movement, he praised the role and contributions of female members and workers in the chemical industry, who, though not numerous, always excel in both professional tasks and family care.
On the implementation of Workers’ Month and OSH Action Month, he commended the Chemical Industry Trade Union for its early and systematic deployment, linking it with improved labor productivity and innovation in safety management in the context of digital transformation, in accordance with the orientations of the Party, Government, and General Confederation.
He also noted that, in the coming period, the Trade Union should continue to follow the resolutions of the Party and higher-level Trade Unions, strengthen coordination with management to address unit difficulties, promptly reflect arising obstacles, and pay more attention to workers’ spiritual lives through cultural and sports activities, building a healthy and humanistic working environment, and contributing to the successful accomplishment of 2026 targets.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông, Chairman of the Trade Union, sincerely thanked and fully absorbed the close and heartfelt guidance from leaders at the conference.
He affirmed that these are important directions for the Trade Union to continue innovating its content and methods, closely following political tasks, accompanying management, and better caring for the material and spiritual lives of all members and workers in the Group.
Facing forecasts that Q2 and the whole of 2026 will continue to pose many challenges due to global developments and raw material price volatility, he expressed confidence that, with the close attention and leadership of the Group and the solidarity, responsibility, and efforts of Trade Union officials and workers, all units will strive to overcome challenges and achieve double-digit growth targets as set out.
He also committed that the Standing Committee will concretize all instructions into practical programs and action plans, and hopes to continue receiving support and guidance from higher-level Trade Unions and Group leadership to fulfill the assigned tasks.

Within the conference framework, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union commended and rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in emulation movements and in the implementation of the “Excellent at Work, Responsible at Home” movement during 2020–2025.
This recognition not only honors the efforts and contributions of these collectives and individuals but also helps spread the spirit of emulation, encouraging female members and workers in the industry to continue striving, innovating, excelling in their professional duties, and building happy families.

The conference created an enthusiastic, united, and determined atmosphere among the chemical industry trade union officials, ready to successfully carry out Q2 tasks and the peak activities in Workers’ Month and OSH Action Month 2026, contributing together with management to the successful achievement of the Group’s 2026 business goals.
