General Director of Vinachem, Nguyễn Hữu Tú, inspects and directs implementation of the Nhơn Trạch chemical plant project
On the morning of 22nd July, a delegation from Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) led by Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, Deputy Party Secretary, Member of the Members’ Council, and General Director, visited the site of the Nhơn Trạch Chemical Plant Project, which is being developed by Southern Basic Chemicals Joint Stock Company.

The visit aimed to assess project implementation, construction progress, and to provide guidance on overcoming difficulties to ensure the project proceeds according to plan, meeting requirements for quality and investment efficiency.
Accompanying the delegation were Mr. Chu Văn Giáp, Member of the Members’ Council; Mr. Tăng Văn Quân, Controller; leaders of specialist departments within the Group; together with management from Southern Basic Chemicals Joint Stock Company, the Project Management Board, the consulting unit and construction contractors.

The Nhơn Trạch Chemical Plant Project is being developed in Nhơn Trạch 6 Industrial Zone (Đồng Nai) as a key project for Southern Basic Chemicals Joint Stock Company. It is part of the policy to relocate production facilities from Biên Hòa 1 Industrial Zone in line with Đồng Nai province’s planning. The project involves building a modern chemical production complex using advanced, environmentally friendly technology, enhancing production capacity, diversifying products, and meeting raw material demands for various domestic industries. Once completed, it will provide a solid foundation for sustainable development, increased competitiveness, and reinforce the company’s role as Vinachem’s core basic chemicals producer.
On site, construction was bustling, with hundreds of staff, engineers, and workers, as well as machinery and equipment operating continuously across various works. The delegation directly inspected the progress of construction items; assessed completed workloads, the mobilisation of manpower and equipment by contractors, construction quality, and adherence to regulations on occupational safety, environmental hygiene, and fire prevention. Project managers, consultants, and contractors reported on project status, implementation challenges, and solutions to keep work on schedule.

According to the investor’s report, the project is currently ahead of schedule by around 20 days. Many items are being implemented concurrently, meeting quality and timeline requirements. Alongside preparations for the installation phase, the investor is urgently transporting machinery and equipment from Biên Hòa 1 Industrial Zone to the Nhơn Trạch site for installation. Many systems are already on site, ready for assembly, paving the way for early project completion and commissioning.

After the inspection and reports, General Director Nguyễn Hữu Tú acknowledged and highly appreciated the responsibility and efforts of Southern Basic Chemicals Joint Stock Company, the Project Management Board, consultants, and contractors. He commended the proactive coordination between units, scientific organisation of construction, and efficient resource mobilisation, all of which have enabled the project to outpace the schedule and created a lively working atmosphere across the site.

Emphasising the project’s strategic importance for both Southern Basic Chemicals Joint Stock Company and Vinachem, the General Director instructed the investor and all project participants to closely monitor the overall schedule, review each work package, develop detailed construction plans for each phase, and fully mobilise manpower, machinery, and equipment. He stressed the need for scientific organisation to accelerate progress and achieve or exceed milestones, as well as the swift completion of machinery and equipment transfer and installation in synchronisation with construction to ensure early commissioning.

Particularly, the General Director underscored strict safety management during construction and installation. Despite favourable progress, all parties must remain vigilant. The investor, Project Management Board, and contractors must rigorously comply with occupational safety regulations; intensify on-site inspection and supervision; promptly identify and control safety risks; ensure adequate protective equipment and working conditions for staff; and strictly adhere to fire prevention and environmental protection regulations. Safety must be maintained continuously throughout construction and installation to ensure stable, efficient, and sustainable project execution.

The General Director also requested that the Group’s specialist departments continue to support and coordinate closely with Southern Basic Chemicals Joint Stock Company during project implementation; promptly resolve any emerging difficulties; and create favourable conditions for on-schedule, high-quality, and effective project delivery, enabling early commissioning, enhanced production capacity, reliable raw material supply for the market, and the successful realisation of Vinachem’s development strategy.
