On the afternoon of April 22, 2026, in Hanoi, the leadership of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) held a meeting with Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam, to discuss and promote cooperation in the chemical industry and related fields.

Attending the meeting from Vinachem were Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp – Chairman of the Members’ Council; Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú – General Director; and representatives of the Group’s specialized departments. From the Belarusian Embassy, Mr. Aleh Holubeu – Counsellor – was present.

In his remarks, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vinachem, shared that, after Vietnam and Belarus elevated their relationship to a Strategic Partnership in May 2025, economic, trade, and scientific-technical cooperation between the two countries has been strongly promoted, opening up many practical opportunities for the business communities of both sides.

Introducing Vinachem’s capabilities, Mr. Hiệp noted that the Group operates in multiple sectors, including chemicals, fertilizers, rubber – tires, and detergents. Vinachem’s products are now present in more than 70 countries and territories. In addition to exporting, Vinachem also has demand for importing items such as potash, cord fabric, specialized trucks, and some production raw materials.

Notably, in the tire manufacturing sector, Vinachem owns companies with histories spanning 50–70 years, which are leading units in Vietnam’s industry, with export turnover reaching nearly USD 300 million and meeting stringent standards of markets such as the US, Brazil, and Europe. The Group’s leadership affirmed its mastery of production technology, technical competence, and experience in international cooperation.

On this basis, the Chairman of Vinachem expressed hope that the Belarusian Ambassador would act as a bridge, supporting business connections and promoting both extensive and intensive cooperation. He also proposed to increase direct exchanges between Vinachem’s member units and Belarusian partners to seek specific cooperative opportunities.

On the Belarusian side, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou highly appreciated the cooperation potential between the two countries’ businesses, especially as Belarus is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and excels in chemicals, fertilizers, and industrial supplies. According to the Ambassador, these are highly complementary to Vinachem’s operations.

The Ambassador also suggested both sides explore solutions to optimize logistics, reduce transportation costs, and promote direct imports of products such as potash, cord fabric, and chemicals from Belarus, thereby cutting intermediaries and improving cooperation efficiency.

On this occasion, the Belarusian Ambassador cordially invited the leadership of Vietnam National Chemical Group to visit and work with Belarusian companies to share experiences, explore market needs, and promote specific cooperation projects.

Expressing thanks for the invitation, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vinachem, expressed a desire to soon have the opportunity to work directly with Belarusian partners and requested continued support from the Embassy to facilitate and connect businesses from both countries for more effective cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou sincerely thanked the leadership of Vietnam National Chemical Group, expressed confidence, and affirmed that he would actively promote the partnership between the Belarusian business community and Vinachem, thereby deepening the Strategic Partnership between the two countries and aiming for practical and sustainable results in the future.
