At 23rd July in Hanoi, the Ministry of Home Affairs, in coordination with the Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Public Security, Nhân Dân newspaper, Hanoi People’s Committee and Vietnam Television, organised the National Conference Honouring Contributors to the Revolution 2026 and launched a movement to enhance care for those who have rendered service to the revolution, in anticipation of the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (27 July 1947 – 27 July 2027).

Politburo member and Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, together with leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, localities, corporations, enterprises and individuals attended the conference.

Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng led the Party and State delegation at the event, expressing gratitude to exemplary contributors in 2026. The Prime Minister personally enquired after the health and wellbeing of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers present at the conference. 

Representing Vinachem, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council, attended the programme, demonstrating the Group’s ongoing commitment to the “paying gratitude” movement and social welfare.

The conference brought together 310 exemplary delegates representing millions of revolution contributors nationwide, including 19 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 27 Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, 119 war invalids, 31 sick soldiers, 44 relatives of martyrs, and many veteran revolutionaries, early revolutionaries, and ethnic minority contributors. These are outstanding examples of patriotism, dedication, sacrifice, and resilience after war, deeply embodying the national traditions of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Repaying those who showed gratitude”.

Promoting the Tradition of “When Drinking Water, Remember Its Source”

Addressing the conference, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng affirmed that, inheriting the nation’s tradition of building and defending the country, under the leadership of the Party, the entire Party, people and armed forces have overcome many sacrifices and hardships to secure independence, unity, and ongoing national development. The Prime Minister expressed profound gratitude to President Hồ Chí Minh, veteran revolutionaries, heroes and martyrs, invalids, sick soldiers, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and families of those who rendered service to the revolution.

The Prime Minister emphasised that today’s generation must continue to safeguard peace, develop the country, improve people’s lives, and provide ever better care for those who have served the nation. He also called on ministries, sectors, and local authorities to focus on four key tasks, further strengthening the “Repaying those who showed gratitude” movement, mobilising social resources to provide more practical care for contributors, and preparing for the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

During the programme, Ms. Bùi Thị Minh Hoài, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, received contributions from organisations and businesses nationwide in support of the movement to honour those who have rendered service to the revolution.

Responding to the call of the programme, Vinachem contributed VND 10 billion to support the welfare of those who have served the revolution. This continues the “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Repaying those who showed gratitude” tradition that the Group has upheld for many years.

For many years, Vinachem and its member units have regularly visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, war invalids, sick soldiers, and the relatives of martyrs; supported Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; and organised numerous appreciation activities on War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day and on major holidays and New Year.

Vinachem’s participation in the conference and its VND 10 billion contribution further affirms its commitment to the “paying gratitude” movement and social welfare. For the Group, honouring contributors is not only a response to Party and State initiatives but also a responsibility and moral value nurtured and spread throughout the organisation. These practical activities, maintained over many years, demonstrate the link between corporate responsibility and the nation’s humanistic traditions, contributing to the spread of positive values in the community.
