At the launch event for the Vinachem Agriculture platform and the one-year review of the VinachemMart e-commerce platform organized by Vietnam National Chemical Group on May 18 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội—a farmer from Kim Tân commune, Thanh Hóa province—shared many real-life stories about farming, fertilizer use, and his hopes for digital transformation in agriculture.

Farmers Evaluate Fertilizer Based on Practical Results

Interviewer:As someone directly involved in farming for many years, how do you evaluate Vinachem’s fertilizer products today?

Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội:

I’ve been farming for years and have used a variety of fertilizers, both domestic and imported. With Vinachem’s products, especially those from Lâm Thao, I find the quality increasingly stable, the range of products more diverse, and the products better suited to farmers’ needs.

My family has used products like Lâm Thao Organic Mineral Fertilizer, Lâm Thao NPK Bio-fertilizer, and Lâm Thao Neutral Superphosphate. Over many seasons, I’ve found that the crops grow more vigorously, roots are stronger, leaves stay green longer, and resistance to pests and diseases is better. With vegetables and fruit trees, the harvest is more uniform and the produce looks better.
We farmers don’t all fully understand the technical specifications on packaging. What matters most to us is the real effectiveness in the field. Just by seeing whether crops are healthy and yields are increasing or decreasing, we know whether the fertilizer is suitable or not.

Good Fertilizer Is About More Than Yield

Interviewer:In your opinion, what builds trust in a fertilizer brand for farmers?

Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội:

In my view, good fertilizer not only increases yield but also helps improve soil and maintain fertility in the long term. Farming is very different now compared to the past. If land is cultivated continuously without the addition of organic or biological matter, it can quickly become compacted and crops gradually become weaker.

In recent years, I’ve seen Vinachem’s products focus more on sustainable development, especially organic mineral fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, and products tailored to specific crops and soil types. I think that’s the right direction.

Beyond the products, I also appreciate that the company’s engineers and experts regularly visit local areas to guide farmers on proper fertilizer use for each stage of crop growth. For farmers, such specific guidance is very important, as proper use leads to better results.

Fake Fertilizer Is a Major Concern for Farmers

Interviewer:How do you feel about Vinachem launching the Vinachem Agriculture platform?

Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội:

I think this is very necessary and exactly what farmers need right now.

These days, many farmers use smartphones and look up information on social media or the internet. But information is a mix of true and false, and not everyone has the knowledge or experience to distinguish genuine products from poor-quality ones.

In reality, fake fertilizers still appear in many places. If you buy counterfeit products, the losses can be huge. Sometimes, after an entire season’s hard work, if crops underperform or yields are lost, all that effort goes to waste.

Therefore, the launch of the Vinachem Agriculture Platform will help farmers verify product origins, identify genuine goods, update cultivation techniques, and connect directly with companies and experts, which is extremely beneficial.

I’m particularly interested in the product traceability feature. Farmers now really need simple, easy-to-use tools to check whether what they buy is authentic.

What Farmers Need Most Is Companionship

Interviewer:What are your expectations from fertilizer companies under Vinachem in the future?

Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội:

I hope Vinachem’s companies continue to research and develop more products tailored to each region’s soil, each type of crop, and each stage of plant growth.

More importantly, I hope Vinachem and its member units will continue to accompany farmers through the Vinachem Agriculture Platform, providing more technical solutions, demonstration models, training sessions, and sharing experiences from experts and farmers in many localities.

As farmers, we don’t hope for anything grand—just good products at reasonable prices, dedicated guidance, and stable output so we can produce with peace of mind for the long term.

In reality, beyond product quality, technical support and technology application play an increasingly important role in building trust with farmers. The Vinachem Agriculture Platform is expected to become a direct, transparent, and sustainable bridge between businesses and farmers nationwide.
