Vinachem Expands ASEAN Presence, Signs Cooperation Agreements with Leading Philippine Partners
As part of the State visit to the Republic of the Philippines by General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, the Vietnam – Philippines Business Forum was held on the afternoon of June 1 in Manila. Vinachem was among the prominent state-owned enterprises in the Vietnamese business delegation, actively participating in trade promotion, investment connection, and signing strategic cooperation memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with leading Philippine partners under the witness of senior leaders from both countries.

The event not only opened up opportunities for trade and investment cooperation between the business communities of Vietnam and the Philippines but also highlighted the role of state-owned enterprises in implementing economic foreign policy, promoting supply chain connectivity, industrial cooperation, and market development within ASEAN.
The Vinachem delegation was led by Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp – Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council. Other members included Mr. Nguyễn Văn Luyện – Deputy General Director; Mr. Bùi Văn Thắng – Head of Business Planning Department; Mr. Cao Thành Tín – General Director of LIX Detergent Joint Stock Company; Mr. Nguyễn Đình Khoát – General Director of Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company; Mr. Đỗ Văn Tuấn – General Director of Southern Fertilizer Joint Stock Company; Mr. Vũ Việt Tiến – General Director of DAP No. 2 Joint Stock Company – Vinachem; and representatives from specialized departments and member units.
At the forum, Vinachem signed MOUs with three leading Philippine partners: Puregold Price Club, Inc., Planters Products Inc., and Sun Prince TBA Corporation. The documents were signed under the witness of senior leaders from Vietnam and the Philippines, reflecting the promising and deepening cooperation between the business communities of both countries.

According to the agreements, Vinachem and Puregold Price Club, Inc. – one of the Philippines’ leading retail groups with a network of over 600 supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores nationwide – will cooperate to introduce Vinachem’s consumer products into Puregold’s distribution system, focusing on home care, household detergents, and fast-moving consumer goods.

With Planters Products Inc. – a leading Philippine enterprise in the production, business, and marketing of agricultural products – both sides agreed to promote cooperation in supplying fertilizers and plant protection products, as well as to explore opportunities in technology transfer and the development of solutions for sustainable agriculture.

For Sun Prince TBA Corporation – a company with strengths in tire and automotive accessory trading in the Philippines – both sides will enhance cooperation in distributing Vinachem’s industrial rubber products, tires, batteries, and various other industrial products in the local market.

As a core state economic group in Vietnam’s chemical industry, Vinachem currently possesses a product ecosystem ranging from basic materials, fertilizers, and chemicals for industrial production to tires, batteries, and consumer goods. Signing cooperation agreements with partners in retail, agriculture, and industry in the Philippines demonstrates the Group’s multi-sector market connectivity and its capability to participate more deeply in the regional value chain.

All memoranda of understanding aim to build long-term partnerships, expand markets, leverage each side’s strengths, and promote cooperation in high-tech and green economy sectors. These directions align with Vinachem’s development strategy for the new era, as the Group accelerates technology innovation, digital transformation, green transition, and the development of science- and technology-intensive products.
The agreements signed in Manila not only target export market expansion but also lay the foundation for Vinachem to strengthen its commercial presence in one of ASEAN’s most dynamic economies. Through the distribution, retail, and agricultural networks of Philippine partners, many of Vinachem’s core products will have the opportunity to reach local consumers and businesses, gradually forming long-term cooperation channels in trade, technology, and sustainable development.
Participating in the Vietnam – Philippines Business Forum and simultaneously signing multiple cooperation agreements with leading local partners further affirms Vinachem’s reputation, capacity, and position internationally. This is not only a step forward in export market expansion but also demonstrates the Group’s pioneering role in promoting industrial cooperation, technology transfer, and regional value chain connectivity.
Notably, during the working program in the Philippines, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp had a meeting with Philippine Minister of Agriculture Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr. and the Chairman of Planters Products Inc. At the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation needs in fertilizers, agricultural inputs, and supply chain development for agricultural production, as well as solutions to promote sustainable agriculture, improve productivity, and ensure food security. The meeting reaffirmed the interest of Philippine partners in Vinachem’s production and supply capabilities, while creating a favorable foundation for the effective implementation of the agreed agricultural cooperation content.
As Vietnam accelerates international economic integration and implements Politburo Resolution No. 79-NQ/TW on further reforming mechanisms, policies, and improving the effectiveness of state-owned enterprises in the new era, Vinachem identifies international cooperation as a key driver for expanding development opportunities, enhancing competitiveness, and deeper participation in the global value chain. The achievements in Manila not only open market development opportunities for Vinachem’s core products but also contribute to realizing the strategy of strengthening ASEAN presence, affirming Vinachem’s role as a key force in Vietnam’s chemical industry and as a bridge for economic, industrial, and technological cooperation between Vietnam and regional partners.
