The Mark of Digital Transformation and Green Transition in the Chemical Industry on Vietnam Science and Technology Day, May 18

On the afternoon of May 18, 2026, at the International Convention Center (Hanoi), Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) held a conference to review one year of the VinachemMart e-commerce platform and officially launch the Vinachem Agriculture platform. The event was organized on Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18), carrying special significance as the entire sector is vigorously implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, as well as executing Resolution No. 79-NQ/TW on developing the state economy in the new era.

Attending the program were Mr. Cao Anh Tuấn – Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Phan Như Nguyện – Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union; Ms. Nguyễn Thu Lan – Deputy Party Secretary in charge at the Ministry of Finance; Mr. Phùng Mạnh Ngọc – Director General of the Chemical Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade; along with representatives from the National Agricultural Extension Center, leaders from Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, representatives of Vietnam National University of Agriculture, various ministries and sectors, as well as many experts, scientists, enterprises, agents, and outstanding farmers nationwide.

Representing Vinachem were Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp – Party Secretary, Chairman of the Members’ Council; Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú – Deputy Party Secretary, Member of the Members’ Council, General Director; along with representatives from the Members’ Council, Board of General Directors, leaders of specialized departments, and member units across the system.

A Digitalized Exhibition Space and the Spirit of Innovation in the Chemical Industry

Prior to the opening ceremony, a large number of delegates toured the exhibition area presenting VinachemMart and the Vinachem Agriculture platform, with booths from member units such as PINACO, CASUMINA, LIX, HASO, Supe Lâm Thao, Bình Điền, Đạm Ninh Bình, among others. The exhibition space was designed with a modern orientation, integrating direct experiences on digital platforms, clearly demonstrating the digital transformation and greening direction of Vietnam’s chemical industry.

The program opened with vibrant, youthful artistic performances that conveyed the message of innovation, creativity, and the aspiration for sustainable development of Vinachem in the new era.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú emphasized that Vinachem’s journey towards greening and digital transformation is not only essential to enhance competitiveness but also a long-term strategy for sustainable development and integration with new development trends. According to him, VinachemMart and Vinachem Agriculture are not isolated platforms but strategic steps to expand market space, strengthen consumer connections, and gradually form Vinachem’s digital ecosystem.

"The Group has identified science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers to fulfill growth tasks in the new era," Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú affirmed.

VinachemMart: A Leap in Building the Chemical Industry’s Digital Ecosystem

A key highlight of the program was the review of one year of operation of the VinachemMart e-commerce platform. Officially launched in May 2025, VinachemMart was designed, built, and directly operated by Vinachem to suit the unique characteristics of the chemical industry. After one year, the platform recorded revenues of VND 51.5 billion, over 52,040 registered accounts, and more than 25,000 successful orders.
More than just a distribution channel, VinachemMart is gradually forming the first specialized e-commerce ecosystem in Vietnam’s chemical industry, connecting businesses, consumers, and market data on a unified platform.

During the program, Vinachem also commended and rewarded collectives for their outstanding achievements in building and operating VinachemMart, recognizing the efforts of pioneering units in digital transformation and developing new business models.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuấn highly appreciated Vinachem’s digital transformation orientation, stating that VinachemMart and Vinachem Agriculture are not merely e-commerce programs but reflect a new direction for state-owned enterprises in renewing growth models, management methods, and public service.

"Resolution 57 requires enterprises to implement substantive transformation—through products, data, effectiveness, and tangible benefits for people and businesses," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
According to Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuấn, state enterprises must not only operate efficiently but also take the lead in digital and green transformation and in building data and knowledge ecosystems for the economy.

Launching Vinachem Agriculture: Accompanying Farmers with Knowledge and Technology

A special highlight of the conference was the launch ceremony of the Vinachem Agriculture platform—a non-profit model built by Vinachem to help farmers access scientific knowledge, cultivation techniques, and official agricultural information.

Unlike conventional commercial platforms, Vinachem Agriculture is an open space connecting scientists, experts, businesses, media agencies, and farmers to spread knowledge, share production experience, and promote green, modern, and sustainable agriculture.

As part of the event, Vinachem introduced its team of experts supporting the platform, including leading scientists and experts such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Quốc Thanh – Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Bộ; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Việt Hà; Dr. Nguyễn Đức Huy; Mr. Võ Tòng Anh, among others. At the same time, representatives from Vinachem’s member units signed cooperation agreements on providing information, materials, and developing content for the Vinachem Agriculture platform for the 2026–2030 period.
Importantly, Vinachem also signed a cooperation agreement with Agriculture and Environment Newspaper to enhance communication, share knowledge, develop content, and spread effective agricultural solutions to producers nationwide.

Representing Vinachem’s partners, Mr. Trần Văn Thụ – General Director of Thai Nguyen Agricultural Materials JSC – noted that the most notable aspect of the Vinachem Agriculture platform is its focus on building a transparent and official information channel for farmers, rather than simply introducing products. According to him, using digital platforms to help farmers correctly identify products, access proper techniques, and directly connect with experts is a necessary direction for today’s agriculture.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội – a farmer representative from Thanh Hóa province – shared that what farmers care about most is not complex technical parameters but actual results in the field. "We see healthier plants, fewer pests and diseases, more stable yields, then we trust and use it," he said, expressing hope that Vinachem Agriculture will become a friendly, easy-to-use platform helping farmers access official information, recognize genuine products, and connect directly with businesses.

Affirming Vinachem’s Leading Role in Digital Transformation of the Chemical Industry

In his closing remarks, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp – Party Secretary, Chairman of the Members’ Council, affirmed that Vinachem will continue to promote innovation, apply science and technology, develop the digital ecosystem, and accelerate green transformation across the chemical sector.

According to Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, from a specialized e-commerce platform to a knowledge platform for farmers, Vinachem is moving towards a new approach for state enterprises in the digital era: not only transforming to develop the enterprise but also to serve production, support the people, and accompany the sustainable development of Vietnamese agriculture.

The program concluded with the official launch ceremony for the Vinachem Agriculture platform, with the participation of ministry leaders, experts, and Vinachem’s Board, marking the beginning of a model for knowledge connection and agricultural support on a digital platform.

The simultaneous review of one year of VinachemMart and the launch of Vinachem Agriculture demonstrates Vinachem’s digital transformation strategy is being implemented synchronously—from production and commerce to supporting agriculture and the community. Not only building a specialized e-commerce platform, Vinachem is gradually expanding its role from manufacturer to connector of technology, knowledge, and data, accompanying the Vietnamese people and agriculture on a journey toward green, modern, and sustainable development.
