Vinachem Organizes Workshop on Investment Policy for the Center for Scientific, Technological Development and Innovation
On the afternoon of May 21, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), Vinachem held a workshop on the investment policy for establishing the Center for Scientific, Technological Development and Innovation of the Group.
The workshop was chaired by Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú – General Director of the Group. Attendees included Mr. Chu Văn Giáp – Member of the Board of Members; Mr. Nguyễn Tuấn Dũng – Deputy General Director; controllers; representatives of the Group’s specialized departments; representatives from the Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry; as well as experts from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

During the workshop, participants focused on discussing and providing opinions on the necessity of establishing the Center for Scientific, Technological Development and Innovation; the organizational model orientation; key research areas; operational mechanisms; and investment plans for constructing the center in the coming period.
According to the proposal, the establishment of the Center aims to concretize major policies of the Party, the State, and the Government on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. It also addresses the need to enhance technological autonomy, develop high value-added chemical products, and contribute to improving competitiveness and sustainable development of the Group.
The Center is expected to focus on four main research areas: ultra-pure chemicals; pharmaceuticals; new materials; and solving technical and technological challenges arising in the production and business activities of member units.
Opinions at the workshop emphasized that, in the context of the chemical industry facing demands for green transition, digital transformation, and deeper participation in high-tech and strategic technology value chains and products, investing in the construction of a modern research and development center is of special importance. This will serve as a foundation for promoting core technology research, commercializing research results, training high-quality human resources, and forming an innovation ecosystem throughout the Group.
According to the orientation, the Center is expected to be located in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, covering about 3 hectares, including zones for research and development, pilot production, technology analysis and evaluation, and human resource training. The total investment is estimated at about VND 1,500 billion, to be implemented during the 2026–2030 period.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú emphasized that investment in constructing the Center for Scientific, Technological Development and Innovation is a strategic step to realize Vinachem’s orientation towards scientific and technological development, innovation, and digital transformation. The Center will contribute to enhancing research capacity, mastering core technologies, developing high-tech chemical products, thereby increasing added value and the competitiveness of Vietnam’s chemical industry in the new development phase.
In conclusion, the General Director requested that specialized departments and relevant units continue to study and fully incorporate feedback from experts and scientists to finalize the proposal for establishing the Center. At the same time, it is necessary to develop a specific, detailed implementation plan and roadmap, clearly identify objectives, investment orientation, operational mechanisms, resources, and steps to promptly realize the investment and construction of the Center for Scientific, Technological Development and Innovation of the Vietnam National Chemical Group.
