In the early months of 2026, the global geopolitical situation has continued to develop in a complex manner, with prolonged regional conflicts, intensifying strategic competition among major powers, and fluctuations in raw material prices, transportation costs, and global trade policies. In particular, recent military tensions in the Middle East have increased risks to energy and raw material supply chains, which could affect many production sectors across the Group.

On the afternoon of March 6, 2026, the Vietnam National Chemical Group (VINACHEM) held an online working session with its member units to review the impacts of the conflict situation in the Middle East and to discuss appropriate response solutions for each production and business sector. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Members’ Council of the Group.

Attending and directing the meeting were Mr. Phung Quang Hiep, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Members’ Council of the Group; Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Members’ Council and General Director of the Group; along with other Members of the Members’ Council, members of the Executive Board, representatives of the Supervisory Board, and leaders of functional departments including Business Planning, Technical Affairs, Investment and Construction, Finance and Accounting, and the Secretariat of the Members’ Council. At the online connection points were the General Directors of member units and relevant professional staff.

At the meeting, the Group’s leadership requested that all units closely monitor international economic and political developments, especially factors that could affect raw material supply, transportation costs, and consumer markets. Units were also required to urgently review the level of impact on their production and business operations and develop appropriate response scenarios for different situations.

One issue receiving particular attention was the potential disruption of input raw material supply chains. Fluctuations resulting from regional conflicts and the international shipping market may lead to difficulties in sourcing raw materials or rising costs. Therefore, units were required to proactively diversify supply sources, seek additional domestic and international suppliers, and develop contingency plans in case international logistics operations are affected.

The Group’s leadership also emphasized that 2026 is an important year for achieving VINACHEM’s growth and development goals. In the context of a volatile global economy, political tensions bring both opportunities and risks. Having well-prepared plans to take advantage of opportunities and respond to challenges will enable the Group’s units to act with the highest level of proactiveness, avoid being caught off guard in any situation, and strive to achieve a growth target of 10 percent or higher for 2026.
