Copper declines on weak global cues

NEWDELHI: Copper prices declined by Rs 2 per kg in the local metal market today onfresh selling by stockists, influenced by a weak trend in prices at the LondonMetal Exchange (LME).

Reduced offtake from consuming industries,particularly alloy-makers also influenced the copperprices.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month fell 1.4 per cent to USD7,322.25 a metric tonne on the LME.

In the national capital, copperwire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were down by Rs 2 each to Rs370, Rs 389 and Rs 350 per kg, respectively.

Following were today'squotations in Rs per kg: Tin ingot 795, zinc ingot 116.50, nickel plate (4x4)880- 994, gun metal scrap 226, bell metal scrap 228, copper wire scrap 370,copper wire bar 389, copper mixed scrap 350.00, Utensil scrap 224, Chadripital175.

Lead ingot 115, lead imported 118, aluminium ingots 100, sheetcutting 103, aluminium wire scrap 100 and aluminium utensils scrap 100.
