India's alumininum marginally down in futures trade

NEW DELHI: Aluminium futures todaymoved down by Rs 0.25, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 101.55 per kg as speculatorsbooked profits despite firm global cues.

At the Multi CommodityExchange, the August contract of aluminium fell by Rs 0.15 to Rs 101.55 per kg,with a turnover of 377 lots.

The metal for delivery in September alsoeased by Rs 0.05 to Rs 102.55 per kg, with a turnover of 4 lots.

Atthe London Metal Exchange, aluminum gained 0.6 per cent to USD 2,203 atonne.

Marketmen said weakness in aluminium futures was mostly due toprofit-taking by speculators at prevailing levels and subdued demand for themetal at the spot markets.

Firmness in base metals in global marketon weaker dollar, however, restricted the losses.
