Manufacturing equipment to recover lead paste from damaged pasted plates and dry paste for reuse as negative paste

1. Necessity of research and application:

  • Before 2024, waste products after the plate pasting process on pasting machines usually only recovered the grid panels.
  • Lead recovery was performed using manual methods, which affected workers' health.
  • Labor productivity for processing waste plates was low.

2. Research and application process:

  • To overcome the above limitations, the author researched and manufactured auxiliary equipment to recover lead paste, replacing manual lead recovery work and optimizing raw material recovery for reuse to reduce production costs.
  • Recovered dry lead pastes are put into a grinder, crushed into fine powder meeting production standards, and then reused as negative paste.
  • Defective waste plates from the pasting process are put into a lead paste separator; the recovered products are panels for lead recovery, while the filtered lead paste is reused as negative paste.
  • The manufactured equipment includes:

o Dry paste grinder: Dry pastes from positive plates, dry paste scraped from mixing bowls, etc., are put into the grinder and crushed into small, fine particles meeting technical standards, then used in mixtures for negative paste.
o Rotary lead paste separator: Defective pasted plates are placed in a water tank to soften, then the rotating drum is operated to separate the lead paste from the plates. The lead paste settles in a container to be filtered for use as negative paste, while the recovered plate panels are reused for casting grids and accessories.
