On May 19, Viet Tri Chemical Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to celebrate its 65th anniversary (May 19, 1961 – May 19, 2026), marking a journey of growth and development as one of Vietnam’s very first basic chemical manufacturers.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyễn Đình Khang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Ethnic Affairs and Religion; Mr. Phạm Đại Dương, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the provincial Party Committee; and representatives from the provincial police, departments, and agencies.

From the Vietnam National Chemical Group, participants included Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council; Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, Deputy Party Secretary and General Director; members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Members’ Council, the Executive Board, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, leaders of specialized departments, and generations of the Group’s leadership throughout the years.

A 65-Year Journey of Determination and Aspiration

Recalling the proud tradition, General Director Văn Đình Hoan shared: For over six decades, it has been a journey of determination, resilience, and ceaseless aspiration on the part of generations of staff, engineers, and workers.

The company originated as Viet Tri Chemical Plant No. 1, inaugurated on November 4, 1959—the very first basic chemical project in Vietnam—established in accordance with the strategic vision of the Party and Government to build an autonomous chemical industry as North Vietnam embarked on socialist construction.

Entering the era of renovation, especially during the 2010–2025 period, the company carried out comprehensive reforms in technology, equipment, and management methods—creating the most remarkable breakthrough in its development history:

- Labor productivity increased by over 20% per year on average

- Industrial production value increased by over 17% per year

- Revenue increased by over 18% per year

Each year, the company contributes hundreds of billions of VND to the State budget; the average monthly income per employee has reached nearly 20 million VND/person.

With the motto “Change begins with mindset,” Viet Tri Chemical transformed from the ground up: from production technology to management thinking, targeting greater efficiency, cleanliness, and sustainability.

The company has adopted European technology, completely ended wastewater discharge into the Red River, and continuously improved processes to save energy, reduce emissions, and progress toward a circular economy.

Core products such as NaOH, HCl, Javen, liquid chlorine, along with specialized products like PAC and Vi-CHLORiNE, have established a nationwide customer network, serving various industrial and civil sectors.

For the 2026–2030 period, the company will implement plans to invest in new production facilities, relocate the plant from the city center, and comprehensively restructure production and business operations.

This is not just an investment project, but a strategic move to build a modern, green, and smart production complex—meeting ever higher requirements in technology, environment, and governance, and opening up new development space for decades to come.

Recognition from the Local Authorities and Guidance from the Group

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Phùng Thị Kim Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee, recognized the company’s remarkable transformation in technological innovation, modernization, enhanced management, production safety, and environmental protection. Phu Tho province affirms its continued support and facilitation for the company’s stable and sustainable development.

In his directive remarks, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp emphasized: In the new phase, the company should focus its product strategy on specialized chemicals, ultra-pure chemicals, and high-tech content; accelerate investment and relocation in tandem with modernization and automation; and especially prioritize chemical safety, fire prevention, and risk management. At the same time, it is necessary to continue building a team of highly specialized personnel, care for employees’ welfare, maintain internal unity, and uphold the 65-year tradition to develop along the direction of “Pioneer – Breakthrough – Sustainability.”

Gratitude and Recognition

At the anniversary, the leadership of the Group and the Company awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with significant contributions; honored long-serving employees; and expressed gratitude to loyal partners who have accompanied the company throughout its development journey.

This 65-year milestone is not only an occasion to reflect on the journey thus far, but also serves as the starting point for a new phase of development—where Viet Tri Chemical Joint Stock Company continues to affirm its role as a flagship in Vietnam’s chemical industry, making positive contributions to the country’s sustainable development.
