From VND 706 Billion to a Target of VND 2,900 Billion: PINACO’s Export Journey and Vision for 2026–2030
At the Export Market Strategy Conference 2026–2030 of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), Mr. Nguyễn Duy Hưng, Deputy General Director of Dry Cell & Storage Battery Joint Stock Company (PINACO), delivered a presentation outlining the company’s export journey over the past five years and its vision for 2026–2030.

Impressive Growth Figures
The period 2021–2025 marked positive growth in PINACO’s export performance. Export revenue rose from approximately VND 706 billion in 2021 to over VND 1,011 billion in 2025, surpassing the VND 1,000 billion threshold for the first time, with an average annual growth rate of nearly 9%. In 2025 alone, export revenue increased by 24.81% compared to the previous year.
Alongside revenue growth, PINACO’s export network expanded to 46 countries and territories. In 2025, the company entered five new markets—Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar—further confirming the competitiveness of the Vietnamese brand internationally.
According to PINACO’s leadership, these results were not merely a function of increased volume or sales, but the fruit of a sustained effort in market building, brand investment, and continual management improvement.
Lessons from Export Practice
Drawing on years of international market development, PINACO has distilled six key lessons.
First, the company distinguishes between selling and market development. If activity is limited to delivering goods to importers, the business will always be tied to short-term orders.
PINACO therefore shifted to a partner-oriented approach—building distribution systems, developing the brand in destination markets, and establishing a foundation for long-term growth.
Second is market diversification. When some markets such as Myanmar, Afghanistan, or Syria faced challenges in 2023, a balanced market structure across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa enabled the company to maintain growth and minimise risk.
PINACO also regards its brand as a strategic asset. The company has invested methodically in international marketing through outdoor advertising, trade fairs, customer conferences, and B2B e-commerce platforms, bringing the PINACO and JP Battery brands closer to end-users.
Another crucial factor is long-term relationships with distributors. Many partners have worked with PINACO for over 20 years, recognised as companions in development rather than mere customers.

Experience also shows that risk management is a competitive advantage. When the Iran–Israel conflict affected shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, PINACO worked closely with customers, shipping lines, and logistics partners to adjust delivery plans, thereby maintaining growth momentum in the Middle East.
Finally, the company believes that people and organisation must develop in line with business scale. The Import-Export Department is now specialised by function—International Business, Export Marketing, Documentation, Logistics, and Key Account Management—to meet new development demands.
Towards the VND 2,900 Billion Target in 2030
For 2026–2030, PINACO is targeting in-depth, efficient, and sustainable growth.
The goal is to achieve an average annual export revenue growth of 22%, raising export revenue to approximately VND 2,900 billion by 2030; to increase the export profit margin to about 4%; to expand the export network to over 60 countries and territories; to commercialise new technology product lines such as AGM and EFB batteries; and to drive digital transformation in customer, order, and logistics management.
To realise these objectives, PINACO will focus on six main solutions: deep market development with a customer-centric approach; selective expansion into promising markets such as Central Asia and Latin America; increased investment in marketing and international branding; transitioning from a “product selling” to a “customer partnership” mindset; enhancing logistics and risk management; and building a high-quality export workforce linked to digital transformation.
Building the Position of Vietnamese Business Internationally

For PINACO, exporting is not simply about delivering products abroad, but about affirming competitiveness, product quality, and the stature of Vietnamese enterprise on the international stage.
Achievements in 2021–2025 are viewed by the company as a foundation for a new stage of development, targeting faster but also more sustainable growth. According to PINACO, export success does not stem from a single factor but from a combination of product quality, sound market strategy, adaptability, and long-term partnership with customers.
This is the approach PINACO is committed to pursuing for 2026–2030, contributing together with Vinachem to enhance competitiveness and promote the presence of Vietnam’s chemical industry in the global market.
