Greening from Factory to Field

03:20 PM @ Wednesday - 09 September, 2026

On the morning of 9 September 2026, Binh Dien Fertiliser Joint Stock Company officially launched its rooftop solar power project at Binh Dien – Long An Plant. This marks an important step in the company’s green transition journey, with the goal that by the end of 2027, clean electricity from solar energy will be able to meet the plant’s production needs.

The project demonstrates Binh Dien’s strong commitment to renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and gradually making production greener. In doing so, the company not only becomes more proactive in its energy sources but also contributes to realising sustainable development goals, adapting to the energy transition trend and the increasing requirements of the market.

Mr. Ngô Văn Đông – General Director of Binh Dien Fertiliser Joint Stock Company – speaks at the project launch.

A Key Link in the ‘Green Journey’

For many years, Binh Dien has defined sustainable development as something that does not begin and end only with NPK fertilisers containing beneficial microbes for straw recycling or circular agriculture, nor with effective cultivation practices in the fields, but must be carried through the entire value chain, from research and production to distribution and product use. The rooftop solar project at Binh Dien – Long An Plant is therefore a key link in the strategy:

“Greening from factory to field.”

In production, Binh Dien is gradually improving energy efficiency, increasing the share of renewable energy, upgrading technology, and reducing emissions.
In the fields, the company continues to research and develop advanced crop nutrition solutions such as incorporating microbes into products—including specialist strains related to methane—or promoting rational fertiliser use, improving soil health, saving resources, reducing emissions, and increasing farmers’ economic returns.

These two processes are closely connected, both striving for a greener, more efficient, and more environmentally responsible agriculture.

Turning Green Commitments into Concrete Action

According to General Director Ngô Văn Đông:

“Our goal by the end of 2027 is to ensure that clean electricity from solar energy meets the production needs of Binh Dien – Long An Plant. This is not just an energy solution, but a clear expression of our determination to turn sustainability commitments into concrete programmes with clear roadmaps and objectives.”

Through the project, Binh Dien aims to:

- Increase the use of clean, renewable energy;
- Reduce dependence on high-emission electricity sources;
- Save resources and improve operational efficiency;
- Gradually shrink the carbon footprint of production;
- Enhance compliance with environmental standards and market requirements;
- Contribute to building a green agricultural value chain and sustainable development.

Towards Low-Emission Agriculture

From the factory roof capturing sunlight to fields and orchards nurtured by effective nutrition solutions, Binh Dien is step by step linking green industrial production with green agricultural practices.

“Green Journey – Healthy Soil, Healthy Crops” is a flagship programme of Binh Dien Fertiliser Joint Stock Company, launched at the end of 2025 as part of the “Greening from Factory to Field” strategy.

Today’s launch of the rooftop solar project marks a new milestone, but also a consistent continuation of the “Green Journey” the company is pursuing under the motto:

Putting farmers at the centre – Science as the foundation – Farmers’ success as the benchmark – Towards green, low-emission, and sustainable agriculture.
With a spirit of initiative, innovation, and responsibility, Binh Dien continues to accompany farmers and the agricultural sector on the journey to create better values for the soil, crops, community, and future generations.

BINH DIEN – GREENING FROM FACTORY TO FIELD

The rooftop solar project at Binh Dien Long An Fertiliser Plant is constructed by Marubeni Green Power Vietnam and Hung Viet Power Investment JSC, with a total capacity of 562.32 kWp, expected to be completed by 20 November 2026. This is the first phase in the company’s rooftop solar development roadmap under the 2026–2030 greenhouse gas reduction plan, with estimated emissions reduction of about 260 tonnes of CO2e by 2030.
