Vinachem Delegation Works in South Africa, Expands Trade Promotion, Seeks Apatite Ore Supply for Fertilizer Production
On June 22, 2026, in South Africa, a delegation from the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) led by Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Chairman of the Members’ Council, held a working session with Kropz Company to discuss potential cooperation in supplying apatite ore for Vinachem's fertilizer production units.
The delegation included representatives from member companies: Công ty CP Supe Phốt phát và Hóa chất Lâm Thao (Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical JSC), Công ty CP DAP - Vinachem (DAP - Vinachem JSC), and Công ty CP Phân bón Miền Nam (Southern Fertilizer JSC).

During the meeting, Kropz representatives provided an overview of their phosphate mining, processing, and export activities. Kropz currently owns large-scale phosphate mining projects in South Africa and Congo, with resources deemed to have long-term development potential. Specifically, the Elandsfontein mine in South Africa is commercially operational, while the Hinda project in Congo is considered one of the world’s largest phosphate resources.
According to the company, reserves at their South African mining site are estimated at tens of millions of tons, while the Hinda project in Congo continues its long-term development plan, aiming to become a major phosphate production hub in the future.

In addition to abundant resources, Kropz also owns a logistics system for export operations, capable of receiving cargo vessels ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 tons, with a loading capacity of 10,000–12,000 tons per day. Their products are currently supplied to many international markets, including Asian and South American countries.
Kropz representatives stated that their phosphate ore features high grade and low impurities, making it suitable for phosphatic fertilizer production. Some product lines can be used directly or significantly reduce processing costs, thereby enhancing production efficiency for customers.

The Vinachem delegation explored ore quality, mine reserves, production development plans, export capacity, as well as the ability to meet raw material demands for Vinachem’s fertilizer plants. Both sides also discussed future supply options, commercial terms, shipment methods, and the possibility of signing long-term contracts.
For Vinachem, direct engagement with major raw material suppliers offers a better basis for evaluating supply sources, product quality, and long-term cooperation potential—serving the raw material needs of member fertilizer production units.

At the end of the session, Vinachem and Kropz leaders agreed to continue discussions on technical and commercial details to concretize cooperation opportunities in the near future.
