Vinachem Launches “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme, Supporting the Development of High-Quality Human Resources
On 19 August 2026, the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) held the launch ceremony for the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme for the 2026–2030 period, aiming to identify, nurture, attract, and develop high-calibre human resources, thereby contributing to the development strategy of both the Group and the Vietnamese chemical industry in the new era.
In attendance were Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council; Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, General Director; members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Members’ Council, the Board of Management, the Chief Accountant, Supervisors; representatives from the Group’s specialised departments, the Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry, and the College of Chemical Industry. On the side of educational institutions were delegates from the Academy of Finance, Viet Tri University of Industry, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and the National Economics University.
Aligning the Scholarship with the Chemical Industry’s Human Resource Development Strategy
In his opening speech, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp stressed that the launch of the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme is the result of long-standing dedication and preparation, reflecting the Group’s commitment to training, developing human resources and its responsibility to the chemical sector, society, and the country.

According to Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, after years of hardship, the Group is gradually recovering and building up resources to establish long-term funds, in which the Scholarship Fund is a priority, alongside the Science Research Fund and the Development Investment Fund.
The name “Vinachem Green” was chosen to reflect the Group’s strategic direction for this new stage of development. As a core enterprise in the chemical industry, Vinachem views green transition, environmental safety, and sustainable development not merely as business imperatives but as responsibilities to society.
With Resolution No. 79-NQ/TW designating chemicals as a foundational industry, and the emphasis on science, technology, innovation, digital and green transformation in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, the Group faces increasingly high demands for development. The Group’s 2026–2030 Development Strategy, approved by the Prime Minister, also sets ambitious new goals for growth and for leading the chemical industry.
Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp affirmed that people are the decisive factor in achieving these objectives. Machinery, equipment, and modern technology only deliver results when operated by a well-trained and qualified workforce. Therefore, developing high-quality human resources must begin with identifying, training, and nurturing talent.
This is the core purpose of the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme. The scheme is not just about financial support for students, but also about discovering capable students and young talents for further support, training, and to build a pipeline of high-quality human resources for the Group and the industry in the future.
The Chairman of the Members’ Council praised the quality of domestic universities and training institutions, particularly in science, technology, and engineering, and emphasised the importance of cooperation between the Group and universities to achieve the programme’s aims.
Through this Scholarship Programme, Vinachem wishes to expand cooperation with universities in training, scientific research, internships, and recruitment, giving students exposure to real-world environments, career development opportunities, and the chance to become part of the chemical sector’s workforce.
Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp also pointed out that the chemical industry continues to face challenges in attracting students and high-quality personnel, partly due to limited public awareness of the industry’s significance. Chemicals are a fundamental industry, vital to most areas of production and daily life. Therefore, the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme also aims to raise awareness of the sector, encouraging students to choose and pursue this field and to contribute to its advancement.
The selection of scholarship recipients must be fair and objective, considering not only academic achievement but also individual circumstances—especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds or remote areas who demonstrate determination and academic ability. In this way, the Scholarship Fund truly benefits deserving cases, enabling students to study, research, and develop further.
Confirming the Group's considerable need for human resources, especially engineers, technical staff, and specialists in various fields, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp stated that Vinachem is always ready to welcome capable students and experienced professionals to join in and contribute to the Group and the wider industry.
Scholarships of VND 30–50 Million per Year, Linked to Internship and Employment Opportunities
At the ceremony, the Group announced Decision No. 433/QĐ-HCVN dated 18 August 2026 regarding the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme.

The 2026–2030 Scholarship Programme is designed to discover, nurture, attract, and develop high-quality human resources, focusing on areas such as chemistry, chemical technology, new materials, pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology, electrochemistry, semiconductors, hydrogen, and digital transformation in the chemical industry. The Programme also promotes scientific research, innovation, and greater links between the Group, educational institutions, and research institutes.
By 2030, the Programme aims to partner with 10–15 educational and research institutions, awarding scholarships to some 50–100 outstanding students each year, and aims to recruit at least 80% of scholarship recipients into Vinachem and its member units.
The total estimated programme budget is VND 50 billion, with each scholarship valued at VND 30–50 million per year. Recipients include talented students; those from challenging backgrounds but with determination; and students with outstanding achievements in national or international competitions.
The programme is not limited to financial support, but also provides internship opportunities at the Group and its member units, guidance from experts on graduation projects, plant visits, and priority recruitment upon graduation. Vinachem thus aims to build a talent ecosystem, create a future leadership pipeline, and contribute to developing a high-quality workforce for the Vietnamese chemical sector.
Universities and Enterprises Building Human Resources Together
At the launch, university representatives praised Vinachem’s initiative, noting its practical value in encouraging students to pursue studies in chemical, technical, environmental, economic, and related fields.

Delegates observed that the programme gives students early access to industry through internships, work experience, and employment opportunities after graduation. The scholarship amount—VND 30–50 million per year—is considered attractive and, if sustained, will help attract excellent students and raise the appeal of disciplines in high demand by industry.
University representatives proposed closer cooperation between Vinachem and universities in implementing the programme; organising visits and practical experiences at Vinachem’s units so that students can better understand the production environment and professional requirements.

They also suggested creating a club for scholarship recipients, maintaining scholarships in subsequent years for students with good results, regular progress reporting, and mechanisms for the Group to select and nurture suitable talent.
Universities pledged to support the programme, working with Vinachem to select suitable students in line with programme criteria and the Group’s needs, and expressed hope for its long-term continuation, forming a sustainable link between the Group and educational institutions, and helping to attract, train, and retain high-quality personnel for the chemical sector.
Investing in Human Resources is Investing in the Future
In his closing speech, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, General Director of Vinachem, thanked university and educational representatives for their contributions and support, and for working with Vinachem in recent times.

He emphasised that the launch of the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme on 19 August—the traditional day of the Vietnamese chemical industry—holds special significance, reflecting the Group’s commitment and sense of responsibility for the sector’s growth.
This is also a concrete step in the implementation of the Party’s 14th Congress Resolution on three strategic breakthroughs, including human resources, and the objectives of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation) and Resolution No. 79-NQ/TW, which recognises chemicals as a key industry for national industrial development.
According to Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, the Scholarship Programme forms part of Vinachem’s long-term human resource development strategy. In the 2026–2030 plan, people are seen as key to achieving growth, competitiveness, and the demands of national industrialisation and modernisation. The Programme serves as a practical bridge between the parent company, educational institutions, and member units nationwide in discovering, training, and developing talent.
With the goal of achieving VND 100 trillion in revenue by 2030, export turnover exceeding USD 1 billion, and ongoing improvements in efficiency, the Group will have an ever-increasing need for high-quality human resources, from managers and engineers to skilled workers and professionals in production, business, technology, research, and market development.
He also stated that Vinachem has directed member units to work together in developing and rolling out the Scholarship Programme across the Group. With unified participation, the process of identifying, nurturing, and attracting talent will be more closely aligned with the real needs of each unit and their production, business, and technical specialisms. Thus, the programme will move beyond simply awarding scholarships and become a long-term mechanism connecting academia, the Group, and enterprises.
Through the programme, Vinachem wishes to proactively seek and attract talented, creative students with the desire to remain with and contribute to the chemical industry. In the long term, the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme aims to build a next generation of highly qualified, technically skilled personnel to meet the Group’s needs in the new development stage.
Outstanding students who are supported and accompanied throughout their studies will have the opportunity to return and contribute directly at Vinachem and its member units after graduation. This is how Vinachem builds its talent pool early, gradually forming a young, capable and dedicated workforce, supporting the Group’s sustainable development in the coming years.
Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú requested that the Organising Committee take on board all contributions to develop practical and feasible activities. In particular, the idea of establishing a “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Club, building a network connecting students, universities, and the Group, should be studied and implemented.
He also suggested the programme be extended to all member units, gathering their human resource needs by sector to build training, scholarship, and cooperation initiatives that are well-targeted and meet real-world requirements.
Alongside the awarding of scholarships, the Group will continue to improve living standards, income, and working conditions, creating an environment where graduates can realise their potential and contribute to the Group. In the past five years, employees’ incomes in the Group have more than doubled; over the next five years, the Group remains committed to improving the working environment and development opportunities for staff.
In 2026, the Group will also establish a Research and Development Centre to attract talent, foster research, innovation, and technological progress.
Looking ahead, the Group will focus on new fields and products such as pure and ultra-pure chemicals for electronics, semiconductors and chip production; high-quality technical rubber; energy storage batteries for renewables; high-grade cosmetics; specialist fertilisers tailored to market needs; and will also explore new fields such as pharmaceutical chemicals.
These areas require highly skilled, innovative, and creative personnel, opening up many opportunities for collaboration between the Group and universities and training institutions.
Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú called on universities and training institutions to pay greater attention to the real needs of business when developing their programmes; to strengthen links between academia and enterprises; and to facilitate student internships, work experience, and exposure to real production and business environments. In this way, a more practical, effective, and mutually beneficial cooperation model can be established, closely aligning training with the Group’s human resource requirements.

With the implementation of the “Vinachem Green” Scholarship Programme for 2026–2030, Vinachem reaffirms its commitment to working closely with educational institutions in identifying, training, and attracting talent. From today’s scholarships, the programme aims to nurture a new generation of highly qualified, confident, innovative, and dedicated professionals, contributing to a modern, green, sustainable, and highly competitive Vietnamese chemical industry in the years to come.
