Translated by Phương Thảo02:52 PM @ Friday - 15 May, 2026
On May 15, 2026, the College of Chemical Industry held the Inauguration Ceremony for the Renovation and Repair of the Regulating Lake and its 2026 Workers’ Conference. The event was attended by: Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú – General Director of the Vietnam National Chemical Group; Mr. Lê Hoàng – Deputy General Director of the Group; Mr. Nguyễn Huy Thông – Chairman of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union; Mr. Nguyễn Quang Anh – Provincial Party Committee Member, Party Secretary; Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Toàn – Chairman of Lâm Thao Commune People’s Committee, along with the college’s entire staff, teachers, and employees.
Inauguration of the Renovated and Repaired Regulating Lake – A Highlight for Campus Landscape and School Safety
The regulating lake, located at the center of the campus, has been a prominent landscape feature since the college’s early days. After many years of use, and especially after suffering heavy damage from Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) in September 2024, many areas around the lake experienced landslides and deterioration, posing safety risks for staff, teachers, and students.

In response, with funding support from the Vietnam National Chemical Group starting November 2025, the college undertook comprehensive renovations and reinforcements of the entire concrete pathway system, lake embankment, and surrounding landscapes. After more than four months of urgent and safe construction, the project was completed on schedule, contributing to a green, clean, beautiful, and safe learning environment, just in time to celebrate the college’s 53rd anniversary (May 15, 1973 – May 15, 2026).

At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Oanh, Principal, expressed sincere thanks to the Group’s leadership, local authorities, and the construction unit for their support in putting the project into use promptly, effectively serving training activities in the coming period.
2026 Workers’ Conference: Democracy – Responsibility – Accompanying Development
In her report at the conference, Principal Nguyễn Thị Oanh outlined both the advantages and challenges faced, such as difficulties in vocational student recruitment, a dispersed training model at various vocational and continuing education centers, and rising operational costs, while the financial mechanisms for business schools still have many constraints.

Despite these challenges, in 2025, the college achieved several positive results: enrollment of 410 intermediate-level students; 228 elementary-level students; 3,213 participants in short-term training; 1,529 participants in occupational safety training; 1,684 motorcycle driving test participants; maintaining 29 classes with 937 students; no disciplinary violations; ensuring good security and order; recognized as a “Safe Educational Institution for Security and Order”; average monthly income per employee reached VND 16 million; all policies and regimes fully ensured; financial autonomy ratio reached 87.73%; and continued improvement of facilities, including the newly inaugurated regulating lake.
Stepping into 2026, the staff, teachers, and employees of the college continue to uphold solidarity, initiative, and creativity to pursue a roadmap towards full financial autonomy. The college will focus on boosting student recruitment and partnering with units and enterprises within the Group, aiming for a target of 525 students for the 2026–2027 academic year; improving training quality to meet employment demands; innovating teaching methods; and accelerating digital transformation. At the same time, the college will restructure its organization, enhance the quality of its teaching staff, intensify scientific research, strive for 90% self-sufficiency in regular expenditures, ensure stable jobs and incomes for workers, continue investing in facilities, build a green–clean–beautiful–safe educational environment, and promote emulation movements to successfully accomplish 2026 tasks.

At the conference, the Supervisory Committee reported on monitoring the implementation of democratic regulations, policies, finances, recruitment, salary increases, ensuring transparency and compliance; no violations were detected, thereby strengthening workers’ confidence. Presentations focused on solutions to improve student recruitment, innovate training methods to match business needs, enhance management of students at partner units, and improve employees’ living standards.

Remarks from the Group’s General Director
In his remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú – General Director of the Vietnam National Chemical Group – acknowledged and highly appreciated the thorough preparation; the presentations closely reflected reality and clearly demonstrated the college’s sense of responsibility and aspiration for development. Reporting on the Group’s outstanding results in 2025 with double-digit growth, he affirmed that the Group’s core and leading role is increasingly strengthened.

The General Director emphasized that among the country’s three strategic breakthroughs—institution, infrastructure, and human resources—human resource training is identified by the Group as a particularly important mission. The college plays a crucial role, directly contributing to preparing a team of skilled technical staff and workers with industrial competency and discipline, meeting the rapid and sustainable development requirements of the Group in the new era.
He also recognized clear changes at the college following the implementation of the restructuring project: expanded training scale, more effective connections with member units; and a proactive, dynamic Board of Management. In light of the Group’s double-digit growth targets for 2026–2030, he recommended that the college take the lead in preparing human resources for new fields such as high-purity chemicals, materials for the semiconductor industry, technical rubber, energy storage batteries, pharmaceuticals, and high-tech agriculture.

The General Director requested the college to proactively expand training and research cooperation with partners with whom the Group has signed strategic agreements, especially with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and many research institutes, universities, groups, and corporations within and outside the sector. This will enable the college to exchange lecturers, share learning resources, access laboratories, and update knowledge on digital transformation, automation, new materials, and renewable energy; while also expanding opportunities for practical training closely linked to modern production technology.
He said the Group will continue to invest in facilities and equipment; meanwhile, a Research and Development Center and a system of key laboratories are being built at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, creating opportunities for the college to participate directly in research, practical training, and education activities closely connected to reality.
Regarding the college’s recommendations, the General Director basically agreed and affirmed that the Group will direct specialized departments to coordinate timely solutions, especially concerning policies to improve the material and spiritual well-being of staff and lecturers. He expressed hope that the college will continue to play a key role in training high-quality human resources for the chemical industry and the country in the new era.

At the conference, the college honored and commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 2025; launched the 2026 emulation movement, and passed the Conference’s Resolution with high consensus.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the renovated regulating lake and the 2026 Workers’ Conference have left a strong impression, demonstrating the Group’s attention to the college, while affirming the spirit of democracy, solidarity, and determination among the staff and teachers in building a more sustainable and developed college.
