Vietnam Pesticide Joint Stock Company (VIPESCO) and PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company (PVFCCo) signed memorandum about cooperative construction of Production plant herbicide ingredients Glyphosate capacity of 20,000 tons per year
The two sides agreed to cooperate in developing and implementing the investment project to build a factory Glyphosate capacity of 20,000 tons / year (Glyphosate 95%), including the workshop format commercial glyphosate IPA 41 %.
In the first phase, both parties will appoint representatives to set up a coordination committee, with the task survey and market assessment, project planning and evaluation of project feasibility.
In case of project feasibility, both parties will contribute capital to establish Joint Sttock Company implement project, including capital ratio of PVFCCo not less than 64%. Each side can find a unit or individual to cooperate by sharing a part of the rate of contribution.
Glyphosate is the active ingredient in herbicides are filtering list of plant protection drugs permitted for use in Vietnam, and farmers are being widely used by high efficiency, low cost, less toxic to people and animals. At present, domestic demand of Glyphosate about 9,000 tons per year, all imported from abroad in two forms: the active ingredient technical (solid) and finished products (liquid).
PVFCCo activities in the field of fertilizers and chemicals, need of diversification of products, paying special attention to the field of chemicals for agriculture. VIPESCO is an enterprise specializing in manufacturing, trading disinfectants and investment projects producing the active ingredient Glyphosate herbicides have been registered in planning industry of Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade.
With the agreement of the project partnership, PVFCCo will expand list product into the field of plant protection agents, in addition to traditional products as urea. This is one of the long-term development orientation of PVFCCo. Also, when the project comes into operation will partially reduce dependence on imports and create a stable domestic supply.
