Base metals prices are up an average of 0.6% with gains seen across the board on the London Metal Exchange this morning, Thursday June 8, helped by better Chinese trade data that showed imports and exports picked up in May. SEE MORE Oil prices fell further below $50 a barrel on Tuesday on concerns that a diplomatic rift between Qatar and several Arab states including Saudi Arabia could undermine efforts by OPEC to tighten the market. SEE MORE OPEC and non-OPEC producers have only just agreed to extend their crude oil production cut deal through to March next year, but one of the key architects of the agreement, Saudi Arabia's Khalid al-Falih said Saturday he will consider the need for deeper output cuts in July.
