Petrol prices nudge up

Fuel prices edged up on May 8, plus a high extraction from the fuel price stabilization fund for fuel retailers, with the rising global oil price cited as the main reason.

Bio-fuel E5 RON92 marked up by the widest margin of VND510 at VND19,440 per liter, or 8.5 U.S. cents. Euro 3 standard fossil gasoline RON95 rose by VND410 per liter to VND20,910.

Diesel oil added VND370 per liter at VND11,140, kerosene inched up VND330 per liter to VND15,910, and heavy fuel oil leapt VND400 per kilogram to VND13,750.

E5 RON92 and RON95 prices continue to be subsidized by the fuel price stabilization fund as previously, with VND958 and VND451 per liter respectively. Other fuels get VND200 per liter or kilogram.

The base price of RON95 petrol has remained unknown since RON92 gasoline was replaced by E5 RON92 early this year. - SGT -
