On October 24, 2025, the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) organized a working delegation to the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos, the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee, the Department of Geology and Mines under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos, and the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Laos. The purpose was to exchange views and promote the finalization of procedures related to selecting a unit to verify the Feasibility Study (FS) Report and a unit to prepare the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report for the Potassium Rocks Salt Mine Project in Laos.
At the meeting with the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Laos, Mrs. Phakkavan Phitsamay, the Director General, emphasized that the Laos Government currently attaches special importance to environmental impact assessment, especially for projects in the field of potassium salt mining. The Department will report to the Minister of Agriculture and Environment and send a written document to Vilachemsalt, recommending competent and experienced consulting units in this field. Concurrently, the Department of Environment will hire independent experts to appraise the Project's EIA report, with the costs borne by the investor.

At the meeting with the Laos Department of Geology and Mines, after hearing the report from Mr. Đào Trọng Cường, representative of VINACHEM, Mr. Sathaphone Duongtavan, Deputy Director General, stated that the Department had received the Feasibility Study Report (2nd submission) submitted by Vietnam - Lao Chemical and Rocks Salt Mine Co., Ltd. (Vilachemsalt). Currently, the specialized divisions of the Department are reviewing the report's content. In the coming time, the Department of Geology and Mines will organize a tripartite meeting including the Department of Geology and Mines, Vilachemsalt, and the Contractor make the Feasibility Study to unify the content and at the same time, introduce an appropriate verification unit to carry out the next steps.

Within the framework of the business trip, the delegation had a meeting with Mr. Nguyễn Minh Tâm, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. After hearing the report on the Project's progress, Mr. Nguyễn Minh Tâm affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos would continue to accompany and support VINACHEM in promoting investment cooperation relations in Laos in general and the Potassium Rock Salt Mine Project in particular, contributing to strengthening the special friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Vietnam and Laos.

At the meeting with the Laos - Vietnam Cooperation Committee, Mr. Đào Trọng Cường, representative of Vinachem, reported on the Project's implementation status and expressed deep gratitude to the Committee for its attention, guidance, and active support over the past time. He affirmed that Vinachem would mobilize maximum resources to ensure the Project is completed on schedule, achieving high quality and efficiency. Mr. Chanthaphone Khammanichan, Chief of Office of the Laos - Vietnam Cooperation Committee, highly appreciated VINACHEM's efforts and affirmed that the Committee would continue to accompany and support the Group during the Project implementation process in Laos.
